Overlays, reflections, optical illusions, visual echoes. Elma Riza developed the installation “Reflection” in a site-specific way and plays with our perception. She thus explores the porosity of the visual limits of the place between inside and outside: an extension of the outside space to the inside and vice versa. Reality and appearance, concrete landscape and mental compositions merge and invite the viewer to reinvent his or her vision of the installation.

A line, an external reflection, on one side of the pavilion… this was the beginning of this work, then I asked myself how to make it visible in resonance with the place, that’s why I chose the soil, present on the outside of the pavilion. A displacement of one element to make another visible, creating an encounter between a geometric form extracted from architecture and an organic matter, both belonging to the place. Elma Riza

Superpositions, réflexions, illusions d’optique, échos visuels. Elma Riza a développé l’installation “Reflection” de manière spécifique au site et joue avec notre perception. Elle explore ainsi la porosité des limites visuelles du lieu entre l’intérieur et l’extérieur : une extension de l’espace extérieur à l’intérieur et vice versa. La réalité et l’apparence, le paysage concret et les compositions mentales fusionnent et invitent le spectateur à réinventer sa vision de l’installation.

Une ligne, un reflet extérieur, sur un côté du pavillon… c’était le début de ce travail, puis je me suis demandé comment le rendre visible en résonance avec le lieu, c’est pourquoi j’ai choisi la terre, présent sur l’extérieur du pavillon.  Un déplacement d’un élément pour en rendre un autre visible, créant une rencontre entre une forme géométrique extraite de l’architecture et une matière organique, tous deux appartenant au lieu.
