« Cet autre paysage » is an installation composed of still videos in which I stand in landscapes that are part of my biographie, and a soundtrack that brings together accounts of landscapes by people I have met.
This work questions our perception of the landscape through the influence of our cultures, our histories and our relationship with nature. The position of the body echoes the direction of writing in the language of the country where the scene was filmed. Placing the body within the landscape is an act that echoes the mark left by the landscape on the body. Placing the body in the landscape is an act that echoes the trace left by the landscape on the body. Because it is not just a visual memory, it is also a sensory, auditory and olfactory experience.
The soundtrack consists of a collection of stories and descriptions of landscapes. Each person who has lent their voice and their memories describes a landscape that inhabits them. Childhood landscapes, everyday landscapes, incredible landscapes, familiar or foreign landscapes. All these landscapes that make up our collective and individual imagination are destined to disappear or be transformed. So this project is a trace, a hymn to this landscapes.
« Cet autre paysage » est une installation composée de vidéos fixes dans lesquelles je me tiens debout dans des paysages qui font partie de ma biographie, et d’une bande sonore qui rassemble les récits de paysages de personnes que j’ai rencontrées.
Ce projet questionne notre perception du paysage à travers l’influence de nos cultures, de nos histoires et de notre relation à la nature. La position du corps fait écho à la direction de l’écriture dans la langue du pays où la scène a été filmée. Inscrire le corps dans le paysage est un acte qui fait écho à la trace laissée par le paysage sur le corps. Car il ne s’agit pas seulement d’un souvenir visuel, mais aussi d’une expérience sensorielle, auditive et olfactive.
La bande sonore est constituée d’un recueil d’histoires et de descriptions de paysages. Chaque personne qui a prêté sa voix et ses souvenirs décrit un paysage qui l’habite. Paysages d’enfance, paysages quotidiens, paysages incroyables, paysages familiers ou étrangers. Tous ces paysages qui composent notre imaginaire collectif et individuel sont destinés à disparaître ou à se transformer. Ce projet est donc une trace, un hymne à ces paysages.
