Workshops for Kids (6 – 12 years old)
‘Schräg und kreativ – a (n)Olympic discipline in everyday places’ with the children from Neues Tor Primary School. Part of Urbane Künste ERbeLEBEN 2026: Die (n)olympische Stadt
The children were encouraged to come up with their own challenges, incorporating their bodies, an architectural feature and a chosen material to create a collaborative activity. These activities took place in the neighbourhood and offered the opportunity to experience everyday places in a different way.
As part of this, a series of photographs was created of places in the neighbourhood which, from the children’s perspective, could serve as suitable venues for improvised Olympic Games. These photographs were then printed onto fabric by the children using a simple process involving lavender oil.
“Mias Zeitreise”
Im Projekt ‘Mias Zeitreise – Unsichtbare & Vergessene Orte’, das von März bis Juni 2026 in Frankfurt (Oder) stattfand, entwickelten Kinder der Kita Oderknirpse sowie der Horteinrichtung Fröbelsternchen gemeinsam mit den Künstlerinnen Elma Riza und Susanne Soldan die Kunstfigur MIA, die durch Zufall aus der Vergangenheit ins heutige Frankfurt (Oder) reist und sich seither über die Stadt wundert. In acht Workshops wurde zusammen die Stadt erkundet, darüber gestaunt, wie es dort früher aussah, was sich verändert hat und was sich zukünftig entwickeln soll. Daraus entstanden einzelne Kunstwerke, die Geschichten, Ideen und Visionen der Kinder zur Innenstadt Frankfurts versammeln.
“Gertraude und die Stadt”
A project conceived and directed by Susanne Soldan and Elma Riza with the children of the Fröbelsternchen after-school care centre in Frankfurt (Oder). Inspired by one of Gertraude Pohl’s works.
